Harivansh Narayan Singh of the Janata Dal (United) and BK Hariprasad of the Congress filed their nomination as NDA and UPA candidates respectively for election to the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman’s post. The position fell vacant after PJ Kurien retired in July.
